Creating a course in Canvas from scratch has presented me with numerous challenges and opportunities to integrate instructional design processes I have honed throughout my career. The most fascinating aspect of this entire process, which revolves around course creation in Canvas, is assuming the role of an educator tasked with creating cohesive learning experiences using digital technologies. Additionally, it's been enlightening to learn in a practical way that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to imparting knowledge. Instead, it's about aligning the intended learning outcomes with a robust set of activities that effectively integrate learning goals and objectives, always keeping the target audience in mind, as they are the ones we ultimately aim to benefit with the content we create.

One of the challenges I've encountered while creating my course in Canvas, titled "Mastering Virtual Etiquette: Navigating UNT Online Resources Like a Pro," is staying on track with my original timeline for completion. At the outset of the course, I meticulously crafted a timeline that I believed I could adhere to strictly. However, upon delving into the creation of modules and activities, I quickly realized that adjustments needed to be made to my original plan, leading to multiple redesigns of my process. While this deviation from the initial schedule isn't ideal, it has provided an opportunity for me to adopt an adaptable attitude toward unforeseen changes. Despite falling behind my original schedule, I am confident that I will have my course ready to launch before the semester concludes.

The implementation and evaluation phases of this project are crucial. However, given that I would need at least a week to conduct a pilot with a minimum of five participants to gather substantial feedback, I am concerned that I may not be able to complete this stage before the end of the semester, as the project is still in development. Evaluation is closely intertwined with the implementation process. Nevertheless, I could gather feedback by inviting classmates and other instructional designers in the course to review my Canvas design and complete a survey. This approach would enable me to gather essential observations to enhance the overall course design and make necessary adjustments, similar to the bi-weekly peer-review sessions we engage in.

Despite the hurdles I've encountered while designing "Mastering Virtual Etiquette: Navigating UNT Online Resources Like a Pro," I remain exceedingly optimistic about the progress thus far. My course is well-structured, and with some refinement, it will undoubtedly achieve the goals I established at the outset of the course. Most importantly, crafting this course in Canvas has enabled me to consolidate all the skills and knowledge I've cultivated throughout my Master's Program into one cohesive project.
